Saturday

I woke up pretty early today since Saylor was coughing so bad. She's been cough, cough, coughing so bad every night lately. I suspect it's because our ceiling fan is set on blizzard. As much as I love her, I just cannot turn it down. Oh, you caught that? Yes, she is still in our bed. When she was a wee one, she did actually sleep in her crib. But a few bad habits from daddy, and she gradually moved to our bed. And she's been there for the last 2 years. Since making over her room to accommodate the baby, we put a big, big girl bed in her room. A twin size. With Princess sheets. She's pretty excited about it. So am I, because she is finally in her own bed! It's only been a few nights, and she ends up coming in around 5:00 am, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel. And I can handle 5 am as opposed to her knees in my back all night long. But after awhile of being under our fan, her cough starts up again. Thus, my early wake up call.

It was kind of good that she and I were both up early, because it helped Tahner to get up and around. He took the girls to our church to help pass out food at our food pantry. My parents are in charge of it, and once a month there is a big food giveaway to families in the area. While we help regularly with sorting, organizing, etc, we've only recently started helping on the actual giveaway day. I think it's a really good experience for the girls, and I want them to grow up volunteering their time for worthy causes.

I decided to stay home because I would just be sitting there anyway. Besides that, I'm in a lot of pain in the mornings. It takes me awhile to get going. I also need to conserve my energy these days. I knew we would be doing family stuff, so I decided to stay home and rest. I laid in bed and watched a few episodes of Yard Crashers and House Crashers (love those shows!) and even ended up falling back asleep.

When the family got back, I finally decided to get up and get showered. While I was getting ready, Saylor fell asleep! Tahner decided to take a nap too (he pulled an all nighter playing nerd cards with the guys).

I figured this would be the perfect opportunity for some one on one time with Maddison. I've been wanting to take her to see Monte Carlo, so I surprised her with the outing! She loves Selena Gomez (despite her disgust at the fact she's dating Justin Beiber, lol) so I knew this would be so fun. We went to Red Robin first, a fave for both of us. That's always Maddison's (and my) first choice.

"Red Robin...yummmm....."

I couldn't resist getting her mid bite. She always gets the Teriyaki Chicken Burger (my fave too!) and she devours it. I always like to gather embarrassing photos of the girls to use as blackmail when the boys come a'knockin.

After Red Robin, we headed right next door to Target to get some candy. Another thing I love about my girl, she's a candy fiend just like her mama. Sour Patch Kids and Milk Duds. The best.

Monte Carlo was SUCH an adorable movie. I absolutely loved it. Very entertaining, pretty wholesome (they did say the 'a' word once), and really good moral to the story. Selena Gomez is so cute in the movie too. Her character was very sweet, genuine and charitable. Well, the main character anyway. The other character she played was the exact opposite, lol.

During the movie, we saw some of Maddie's best friend walk in. They just happened to be at the same movie! So afterward we met up and chatted a bit while the girls did their thing in the lobby. Maddie ended up going to play at one of the girls' house. It's so weird to see my baby growing up. She just basically ran off, with a sassy little hand push towards me. Oy.

I came home to find Tahner & Saylor JUST waking up! I was kind of excited this morning, thinking that we may actually get back on a normal schedule since everyone would be so tired by tonight. So much for that! They slept for like 4+ hours! Even if they stay up late tonight, we still have to get up early for church tomorrow, so maybe tomorrow will be the day we get back on track. Because things are gonna be a'changin around here when this little miss arrives! Even though I'll be sleep deprived, I just don't like the backwards schedule, where everyone stays up til midnight or 1:00 am (yes, that's what I said!) and then sleeps until 10:00. Not gonna happen much longer. Although, it wouldn't be summer without at least a few weeks like this. Shhh, don't tell my family I said that. :)

I just love, love, love my family. You know I'm completely ecstatic about adding a new baby to our family, but a small part of me is so sad to see our family of four change. I pray that our family dynamic will stay the same (or at least grow richer). I am really trying to cherish this summer, these last few weeks as a family of four. I've been keeping a small daily journal of the things we do each day (which I need to catch up on a bit!) so that I can look back at it forever. I think this next week I am going to do a full out "Week in the Life" of our family, to fully document what our household and family is like before the little miss arrives.

So, that's our Saturday so far. It's now 5:30 pm and I'm finally cooled off from our outing. Can you believe that I was actually sweating in the movie theatre?? When I go to the movies in the summer, I want to freeze! Not sweat. It was awful. I left during the movie and told someone, so it did get a little cooler. But this big fat preggo needed awhile to cool back down. Hibernating in our nice air conditioned house finally did the trick.

Now we're off to the pool.......again!

It's too bad I'm so hott.
(P.S. Enjoy the water spots in the pic. Hopefully they distract from my massiveness)
(P.P.S. At least now no one can say that I'm not a brave person)
:)

Happy Saturday!

And thank you for the sweet comments that are coming in on my recent posts. I've been such a bad blogger, I was worried that you all had abandoned me. :)

So glad you had a chance to spend some one on one with Maddison! She is looking more and more like you everyday! I bet everyone is catching up on their sleep knowing what is ahead in the coming weeks! LOL

Sounds like it was a good time. I can't wait to see it.

I know what you mean about the dynamic changing but you'll have fun being a family of five. I remember when my 3rd was born, he seemed to bring some extra pep to the family and my girls loved having a baby around. They were 7 and 5 years old then and loved playing momma. After 3, you'll also find that you can juggle a lot more than you thought!

You look awesome by the way!

Sounds like you had a great day! My son still sleeps with us as well (he's 5). He's fallen asleep in his own bed, but it never fails that by 4 or 5am, he's calling for us. I'm looking forward to the day he spends the whole night there!

You look great by the way!

busy day for a busy pregnant mommy. Don't worry a family of 5 is even better than 4! We just switched over and are loving it. You look adorable in your suit by the way!

Oh my goodness, Amber, you are SO stinkin' cute!! It looks like you guys are having a lot of summer fun! Is it crazy that I miss being pregnant? I was so uncomfortable, and in such pain, but I look at pics of you, and I'm seriously missing being pregnant. Though there's nothing like holding a precious new baby on the outside :) Not much longer!!!!
