Week in the Life--Tuesday

Yes! Our day started much earlier today. Everyone got out of bed much earlier today, thank God. My mom called at 8:30 to say that they had picked up the food bank stuff for the church, so we got up and around and headed right over to help.

We love helping my parents with the food bank stuff. They work so hard, every week. They pick up, sort, organize, and keep the room clean and tidy. It is a HARD job. It's also fun for us, because we get to shop while we help. We donate every month to the food pantry, and because our money goes so far, we are able to get things that we need every now and again.

After helping my parents, we headed down to the other end of the church and helped the women's ministry sort things for the yard sale this Saturday. The girls had fun playing with the pastor's girls.

We headed out for a quick bite with my parents before my 36 week doctor appointment.

My mom took the girls swimming so Tahner & I could go to the appointment. TWO streets away from the office, they called to say that my doctor had to head to the hospital for a delivery. Very frustrating (since it's across town) but I will appreciate it when it's my turn and he's dropping everything to rush to me. So, my mom told us to take advantage of the opportunity, and go shopping or something. So, we did. **My appointment is rescheduled for Thursday morning.

We headed to Buy Buy Baby to pick up a couple things I still needed. I needed a bassinet sheet (so hard to find a quality one--most are so cheap and thin!). I bought a waterproof cover for the bassinet, a first year calendar (love these!) and a "M" for Maddie's room.

We headed to Target next to pick up some every day things. I decided to stop at Babies R Us last minute to see if I would have any luck finding a bassinet sheet there. I figured that Buy Buy Baby would be much better than Babies R Us because it's newer and bigger. NOT the case! In my opinion, Buy Buy Baby is way over-glorified. I feel that it has more impractical items. There are so many weird items that you really don't need. The aisles are way too small, and they always crowd them with carts full of merchandise. When you're 8+ months pregnant, it's not very easy to maneuver as it is, let alone getting boxed into a corner, which actually happened to me today. Not fun, lol.

Babies R Us is still far superior. And they had lots of items on an additional clearance. I've been a mission to find the perfect baby blankets. With Saylor, there were so many adorable blanket options available. Our favorites have minky dot fabric on one side, and silky fabric on the other. I cannot find those anywhere now! If I had skills, I would make my own. But, sadly, I do not. As I was browsing here, I came across this adorable blanket made by Carters. It's not the same, but similar to what I like. AND it was on clearance! It was marked $10.98, and I was surprised to see that it was an additional 25% off, making it $8 something. It is so soft, sweet and perfect. I can't wait to wrap my little miss up in it's softness.

I've also been on the lookout for a really good nightgown for the hospital and after, as we'll have my in-laws staying with us, and I'm sure lots of visitors. I came across this one made by Motherhood, and I absolutely love it. It's super soft and comfortable. And it's also perfect for nursing.

(Sorry for the poor quality photos)

I also decided to go with a Carter's changing pad cover to use as a bassinet sheet. It is only one inch bigger (and a little more square than oval) but it will work just fine. I love Carter's changing pad covers. I already own a similar one that I used on Saylor's changing pad, that I will now use for the baby. This new one is light pink, velour and minky dot. SO plush.

After picking up the girls, we headed home and ate a yummy dinner of Ribs and Rice that I threw in the crock pot this morning before church. Tahner & I organized the pantry and cleaned up the kitchen a bit, and then sat down to watch "The Dilemma" while the girls played in their rooms and watched TV.

Later we all watched Wipeout in the living room together. This show is a total family favorite, and I'm sure many of you can say the same. There is just nothing quite funnier than seeing people do dumb stunts and getting beat up. We laugh until we snort sometimes. Okay, I snort. And they laugh harder at me.

I caught a few super, duper cute videos of Saylor watching Wipeout. She is just SO funny to watch and listen to. She's hilarious!

Enjoy!

Here are two not so good pictures of my belly recently.

This one is one from church on Sunday.
This one is from Tahner's phone. The lighting makes my face look funny.

**Edited: I forgot to mention that our car seat got delivered today! I'll open it up tomorrow and snap some pics of it. It's super cute!

You look so great, Amber! I love these day in the life posts. I need to do my own to really document what goes on here all day every day. With the lack of sleep, it's kinda hard to remember ;)

What'd you think of "The Dilemma?" We just rented it and of course it was funny, but it was one of those movies you knew how it was going to end and you just wanted to yell at the characters to tell them to stop being stupid! haha
