Week in the Life--Friday

Okay, it's only been a couple days, but here is my Week in the Life post from Friday. :)

We took a little time getting up and around on Friday. I think I woke up before everyone (as usual) and rested a bit at my computer. I'm sure I cleaned up a little, because that's what I always do.

I have one of the best moms in the world. I know everyone says that, but I do. We'd asked her earlier in the week if she could watch the girls so we could go see the new Harry Potter movie that day. So she called us about 11 am. She wanted to see when we wanted to go, and that while she was here, she was going to paint the hall bath vanity (one of the things on my list).

So we headed off to a quick lunch before we went to Lowe's to pick up supplies. While at lunch, she called to tell me that I should have Tahner drop me off at Lowe's and she would help me get the supplies to make it easier (without the girls there). Once there, we were able to get paint for the vanities (the hall bath & master), paint samples for the walls, trim for around the mirrors, silicon to put them in place, and peel and stick tiles for our master. And she even did all the math for trim and such. What a mom.

At home, she and I played around with the trim, trying to see how it would look. We also prepped the bathroom, taking down towel bars, knobs, etc. She let Saylor test out the paint samples on the wall. Saylor loves painting, and last week they both painted the dresser in the little girls' room. My mom then shooshed us off to the movies and got to paintin.

Oh.My.WOW. The new (and final) Harry Potter was SOOO good. Before the movie, I checked Tahner & I in at the movies, and jokingly threatened to tell everyone what happened. That's my joking at the fact that most east coast people typically blow all the TV results for us west coasters, via Facebook. I can't even count the times that it's happened. Not just that, but people that think that just because they have seen something, it is okay to go ahead and spoil it for others. Anyways. :)

Back to the movie. SOOOO good. I'm not one of those that have read every single book. The only part that I read was over Tahner's shoulders a couple times while we were dating. Now Tahner is another story. He has all of the books. In paperback. And just so you know, should you ever borrow any of Tahner's books, do NOT, I repeat......do NOT dog ear any of the pages. OR crease the book. (My husband is a nerd) He's an avid reader and he has three bookcases in our sun room dedicated to books that he has read. Because he says he gets so much satisfaction from standing in front of it, admiring all of the books he's read. (eye roll at the nerdiness)  Oh, but I love him.

So, after the movie, we got home and both of my parents were here watching NCIS. Love them. My mom had painted the entire vanity FOUR times, using a tiny craft foam brush. Poor thing. The roller she had was making bubbles, and she couldn't find anything else. Bless her. But it looks SO good! I cannot wait to get the bathroom walls painted and the frame up. It's going to look so good, and so updated. Can't wait. That's on the project list for this week. I just need to settle on a color.

Bathroom vanity--after

It looks SOO much better!

We got home around 6:00 and there was a celebration service at our church at 6:30. Tahner talked me into staying home with the girls since I was so tired. I had been tired all day long, and he knew it. I kept the girls because Saylor was grumpy and we knew there would probably be no nursery. I hung out on the couch and ate some yogurt and granola (my current favorite). Saylor and I did a little watering outside, and by 7:30 I was falling asleep on the couch. That's when I decided to abandon my post for the evening.

I headed in to get ready for bed with Saylor in tow. She talked me into playing doctor & patient with her new doctor set. It was super cute. She was the doctor and then it was my turn. When we brushed her teeth, I even pretended to be the dentist, and she LOVED that.

I climbed in bed, absolutely exhausted. What I thought was going to be an early evening for Saylor, wasn't at all. Tahner went straight from church to his weekly nerd fest with the guys. Maddie has all her new shows on Fridays, so she's pretty easy. She's content to hang out in her room with her shows, and either toys or a project like jewelry. Saylor is a little more back and forth. She watches TV, wants me to read, needs a snack, watches TV, plays toys, etc. Which is totally fine. But I was SO tired, that it was hard on me.

And I'd taken half of a Tylenol PM. The newest addition to my nightly routine.

So it made it even harder to deal with her. I kept falling asleep and she'd come in and tap me awake and say, "Hi mama". It was so incredibly sweet, but I was so incredibly tired.

Since our weather was absolutely perfect this past week (thank the Lord for the break!), my mom and I decided to go to yard sales one last time before the miss comes. So that meant that I needed extra sleep for my early morning. I kept trying to get Saylor to go to sleep but nothing was working. I texted Tahner at ten something to say she was draining me but I'd keep trying.

Finally I texted him again when she woke me up at midnight! It was too much. Maddie came in to get water and saw that he'd texted back that he was on his way home. I glanced over and Saylor was in bed with me, asleep. I am pretty sure I fell asleep as fast as I realized it.

While Friday wasn't exactly as super busy day, I was so thankful for a little down time. That seems to be the way with me. I'll spend one or two days super frantic and busy, and then I need a day to rest.
Tomorrow I'll share about our weekend. Let's just say that Saturday was the super busy, crazy day while today was a day of rest. Lots to show and share. Pictures of yard sale finds, Craigslist finds, a tummy shot, and more.

And yes, she's still safely tucked away inside. :)

**There's not any pictures of Maddie in here! So sad. I even looked through my phone, no luck. :(
I'll make her take more from now on.

Your vanity looks great! What a mom :) We're seeing HP tonight. Evie and I have read all the books, and I have them in hardcover - hers are paperback, I wouldn't let her read mine :) Your comments about Tahner and his book rules made me laugh - I can read a paperback & it looks brand new when I'm done with it. I loaned a book to my mom once and was horrified to have it returned with pages FALLING OUT. The first thing she does is break the spine so they're easier to hold! EEEK! I don't loan her books anymore :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I would just ♥♥♥ to hear what you have to say!
