Week In the Life--Monday

I wanted to do a Week in the Life to document what our life is like, right before the birth of our little miss. Since she could come at any time now, I knew I had better do it this week.

This morning I got up at 8:30 to get ready for an appointment I had to register Saylor for preschool. I was super tired since I accidentally had a Diet Coke instead of a caffeine free in the evening. But I got up and around, and headed over there early. I walked up to the room 15 minutes early, just as instructed. I didn't see many people around, so I began wondering if I was in the right spot. I kept looking at my paper work, and I was in the right spot at the right time. I finally saw it....

I was there on the wrong DAY. My appointment was for next Monday, July 18. Ugh.
(Thankfully, they another meeting today at 3:00. Why didn't they give me that one in the first place??)

I headed back home, and everyone was still sleeping. At 10 am. So, I woke them up, and rested on the couch with my computer for a bit. 10:30, still sleeping. I roused them again. 11:00, still sleeping. Ohmygosh, ifthisfamilydoesn'tgetup....!  I finally went in and turned on TV's to at least get the girls going. I knew they would get Tahner up eventually.

We finally headed out of the house around 12:15 to grab a bite to eat. We went to Wendy's, one of our faves right now. I am really loving their Crispy Chicken Sandwich. I love their BBQ sauce with it. Mmm.. My mom joined us. After lunch we were headed to a birthday party at my grandma's for a cousin. My mom took the girls straight there with her since we needed to stop at the house to pick up the other car and the preschool paperwork.

At home, I decided that I was just going to stay there. I couldn't go swimming since I had the appointment at 3:00, and I wasn't really keen on sitting outside in the heat when I could be in my nice air conditioned house. So Tahner headed over without me. Instead of sitting and resting, I started cleaning like a mad woman out in our sun room. Our sun room doesn't have any heat/air, since it's an addition the previous owners put in. I actually moved my hydrangeas in there last week since it's basically a green house. And a play room. And Tahner's area. So, I worked up quite a sweat. I figure since I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow, if I work myself into labor, it's pretty safe. :)

My best friend picked me up for the preschool orientation, since we're putting our girls in the same class. It was nice catching up a bit. The preschool gave us the run around with things that weren't on the list, so we had to go back to our houses to pick up additional things before they would accept our applications. So I met her back there after we jumped through hoops. Our little girls are going to have so much fun together this year. They love playing together. I love that they are so close in age.

I headed out to my grandparents' house, and everyone was gone but my parents and the girls. I had a nice chat with my mom, and then my grandpa as well. I just love my family. The girls played and watched TV, since they'd already done all of their swimming.

Tahner has a 8 week umpiring gig, and tonight was the first night, so he was already gone. The girls and I swung by Taco Bell on the way home b/c I was so tired, and a taco salad sounded really good. :)  I know, I know, fast food two times in one day. So horrible. I do not recommend this.

After dinner, Maddie and I worked in her room, sorting through stuff and cleaning up. I have decided that our house needs to be put into order quickly, and stay that way. That way we are ready for baby at any time. My in-laws will stay in Maddie's room, and they're planning to stay for a week, so her room needs to be ready at all times, short of changing the sheets. And the child has become quite the slob. :)

Since today is 7/11, all 7-11's were giving out free slurpees. We decided to go (after Design Star, of course!), so that put us at 10:00 pm. We went to one near our house, and they had run out of cups. So we headed to another nearby, and they were out of cups too. We ended up at a gas station near home that has really good freezes. The best are the Pepsi & Dr. Pepper ones (I wish they had diet!) but of course we made the girls get cherry or blue raspberry since they don't have caffeine (just tons of sugar, lol).

Hey, my motto the past month or so has been, "It's summer!" which basically means, "Eh, go ahead. Whatever". Popsicles for breakfast? Sure!  Skipping a shower since you just went swimming?? Whatever.

:)

So, now the day has come to an end, and here we sit at 12:30 am. How come we cannot get on track?? We're about to head for bed. Tahner's out watering, and I'm finishing this up. My Tylenol PM is starting to take effect. Hmmm, maybe I'll slip some to the rest of my family.....
